Money is the bottom line here, unfortunately. In the final analysis, if the SOPA passes, it essentially gives power to whoever lobbies on behalf of the entertainment industry, the power to censor the internet. The absurdity of this whole situation has left people speechless, no pun intended.

Fight for the Future published a 3-minute infographic video explaining the basics of the bills and their impact on everyday activities of online interactions. Seriously, watch this. It’s very well put together and outlines what we’re in for if these ridiculous bills are passed.

Web Hosting Provider Hostgator is one of the larger web hosting companies who opposes these ridiculous acts and in protest has offered their web hosting at deals of up to 50% off. They are in the top ten largest web hosting providers in the world. If you need web hosting you should probably consider this. It doesn’t get much cheaper than this from such a quality company.

Anti – SOPA Special – To take advantage of this Anti-SOPA special Click Here On The HOSTGATOR. Also, use coupon code NOSOPA, when checking out. You will be able to arrange web hosting for $2.48 / month. It doesn’t get much better than that!

JVZoo.com Product Of The Day

I guess you can imagine how excited I was when I got the affiliate-request from E. Brian Rose (EBR). I thought to myself, holy cow EBR’s gonna promote my product to his list, which usually means some pretty good sales and exposure. Which was definitely the case and the sales are still trickling in, people are joining my list through Aweber. Overall, having your own products to sell is probably the best way to gain traction in this business. There are many reasons that people succeed in this business, but the one that can really make a difference is building relationships with other marketers. If you can successfully do this, then the sky’s the limit. When you need them to mail for you or joint venture on a product that you’re not so familiar with, then you’ll realize the benefits of having them on your side.

Facebook Store Builder

The product that was awarded jvzoo.com product of the day was the Facebook Store Builder. Very cool stuff. Nice way to start off my weekend! So basically, what happened is that it drew a lot of attention because it was picked “product of the day”. EBR emailed his list, recommending the Facebook Store Builder plus a bunch of other affiliates too. All in all, I approved about 20 different affiliate marketers to promote the product. The number one affiliate was EBR. I believe he has some pretty good sized lists. Over 20 sales happened. I am not retiring off of it, but it was sure nice to see. I will be adding more and more products to the marketplace. I have tons of plr stuff on the hard drive and access to tons more through a plr membership site I belong to, Resell Rights Fortune. Under the plan I have I can download 30 different products each and every month. I highly recommend being part of a plr club. The one I’m with is brilliant and there are thousands and thousands of products for me to choose from.

More Fishing Rods In The Water

It’s just like everything else. It’s a numbers game. The more products I put out there at JVZoo.com, the more chances of sales happening and the more chances of one of the products being “Product Of The Day”. Exactly like fishing. The more fishing rods in the water, the more chances of you catching more fish. So, my plan is to get many products on to JVZoo.com. If time permits, at least a couple a week. After a year, over one hundred products. With that many products, do you think you’d be making some money? Just sayin’. You know, this is one of those little opportunities that doesn’t come around too often. If you set yourself up properly, you will have a system that can really pull in some decent cash. There are a few ingredients that you need, a few skills that you need to learn and the determination to make it work. I will probably make another post, kind of like a recipe for bringing in cash.

Til then, start thinking about how you can get your own fishing rods in the water to generate cash flow. Within a couple of days, I will create a post, which will outline the system I have created for myself, utilizing PLR (Private Label Rights) products and products with MRR (Master Resale Rights).

- I received the usual sales pitch email that I always get from this particular marketer but the headline “got me”. Soooo, I end up reading his email, then a little bit of research and then I purchased the Facebook Store Builder. Usually, when I purchase, it’s from marketers that I respect and really like. Marketers who pitch but also give some good free stuff, will have my business. I feel a little bit indebted to them because of the free stuff! I also know that many of these guys (I’m on a few lists) are already very wealthy, but I like that. It tells me that they really know what they’re doing and I can learn from them! A couple of marketers who you will see me mention periodically are Brad Gosse and E. Brian Rose (EBR). Two very talented marketers, who are also cool dudes (can you tell what era I’m from?) Anyhoo, here’s the skinny on my purchase: The guy who I bought from is not in the same category as Brad or EBR but I bought anyway as I felt the product was worthy!

Did I Forget To Mention That You Should….Subscribe To My 5-Part Email Course…………………FREE………………………..…Right Here—————————-—————–—>

Doubt Sets In

Okay, I have the Facebook Store Builder. It comes with two tutorial videos and the software. I watched the vids and I’m thinking “It’s too damn easy!”. So, I go ahead and use the software, which generates an html script. That was simple. Then I follow the instructions in Video 2, how to install it into Facebook. I follow all the steps and run into trouble. I can see what it is supposed to look like when I hit the “preview” button, but I can’t get it to work for the normal view. Incidentally, you need to check the normal view through someone else’s account. In my case, I used my daughter in law’s account to see what it should look like. I tried this and that and then this and then that. I decided to call it a night was now 1:20 am (In all fairness, I did start to use the software late. It’s not like I was at it all day). I usually get up around 6 am, to help the wifey and daughter get ready for work and school (I make lunch for my daughter and prepare some fruit for Jacquie etc. etc.). Needless to say, I went to bed, but frustrated and doubtful.

Troubleshooting & Solution

Next day…I did my morning wife/daughter duties. Rushed down to my computer to, once again, confront the problem. So far, I followed the instructions to a “T”. So this time, I decided to start experimenting. Within 15 minutes, BINGO! It worked. A very simple solution. There’s a few settings at the top of the Facebook screen where you install the script. One of the check-boxes is “No Scrollbars”. The instructions tell you to check it. If you do check it and it works, fantastic! If it doesn’t work, then uncheck it as I’ll bet you, that’s the problem. Not a biggie, just frustrating. But that’s what computers and scripts and the internet do. There are so many compatibility issues. Actually, if you really think about it, ITS A BLOODY MIRACLE THAT THE INTERNET WORKS AT ALL. 10 Gazillion miles of wires and satellites and servers and switches and power bars, lots of power bars, lol and Google and Facebook are at the hub of it all. It’s nuts! But somehow, by the Grace of God, it works!!!

Master Resell Rights

Once it started working, I started to think about how cool this product really is. So, I went back to the OTO (one time offer, lol…but I was able to go back to it, 2 days later….hmmmm….) and I purchased the Master Resell Rights. What does this mean? Well, basically it means that I have the rights to sell the Facebook Store Builder now. That’s how cool I think it is. Now that I’ve ironed out that glitch, it will literally take 5 minutes to get one Facebook Store up and running. The only difference that I did that wasn’t in the video was I put the store on an existing Fan Page called Diets That Work Now. What I’m going to do is put up a half dozen of these Facebook Stores and see which ones make some money. Then I will concentrate on the niches of the winners, maybe get real specific (drill down) and get lazer-targetted traffic. That’s what’s best for conversions, the myopic buyer!

Sidenote: Once you have your fan page or business page up and running, it will have a butt ugly url.The first one you get on your account will be pretty, the rest will suck. (Facebook allows you to have a pretyy url, easily, but only for your first fanpage. The rest have a weir combination of numbers etc.) You need to get 25 likes in order to lift the curse of the shitty looking url. That part is easy. Ask your friends to help out or join a group where they specialize in liking pages (in exchange you must like their pages back) or go over to fiverr.com and pay 5 bucks and get someone to get you 25 likes. There, real simple!

JVZOO.COM

So now what? I’ve got my Facebook Store up and running, I’ve purchased the Master Resell Rights and I’m happy. I study the contents of the Master Resell Rights Kit and it’s bare bones. It has a website and the license that explains my rights and that’s it. Now, if I want to sell Master Resell Rights to my buyers, I’ll need a separate sales page for that. So, I went ahead and created a separate sales page for the OTO, as the Master Resell Rights that I will be selling is a One Time Offer, which they can probably come back to 2 days later as well, lol.

I went ahead and uploaded everything to my new favorite platform, the JVZOO platform and yes, I am offering the Resell Rights too. So, I have my second sales page all set up and ready to take orders and I’ve also included that second sales page in the whole package that I’m selling. You can check out everything here at Facebook Store Builder

I think it’s going to be neat to see what we can make of this one. Perhaps we should do a challenge. How many can we create in 30 days or something. The worst that will come out of it, is that you might make some pretty good cash!

Awhile ago I was planning on an interview series. I would interview people in a certain niche, and in this case it was internet marketing. It could’ve been any niche and there are other niches that I do work in, but for some reason I decided on internet marketing. One of the people I interviewed was Brad Gosse. I am very fortunate to live less than an hour away from Brad. I’ve had coffee with Brad at his local Starbucks a couple of times and I’ve learned a lot from Brad each time we’ve met.

Tom Ness

It was actually another marketer, Tom Ness, who put me on to the whole idea of interviewing successful people. I came across a thread on the Warrior Forum that was started by Tom and I responded to one of the posts by Tom. We chatted and ended collaborating on a project, called the “Underground Marketer Sessions” Basically, I interviewed marketers and got them to spill the beans on topics that aspiring marketers really need answers to. Tom was my first interview and it was brilliant. He has such a vast knowledge of marketing online, that I was amazed when the interview was over and reflecting on the content. Thanks Tom!

Time For a Break….Subscribe To My 5-Part Email Course…FREE…Right Here———>

Brad Gosse

Brad was my next interview and I’m going to share this one with you today. Brad Gosse is such an interesting person that I really wanted to have him be part of this project. Brad is the real deal. He is a 7 figure earner from Internet Marketing. Few can claim this, relatively speaking. I left the topic of the interview up to Brad. He felt that “branding yourself” was a worthy topic. It was one of those things that I never really thought about. But after the interview was over, I was like, DAMN….did I ever miss the boat. I was very appreciative of Brad sharing with me on the interview as it gave me fantastic content for my project, plus I learned something amazingly valuable!

Here is the interview. Enjoy!:

I am sure you can see why I was elated when Brad agreed to give me the interview. I hope you can use this info. in your marketing endeavors. Especially if you’re planning to make a name for yourself in your niche. You must differentiate yourself within the pack. Another marketer I am hoping to get for an interview is E. Brian Rose. I’ve approached him a few times and the last time he told me to pm (private message) him in the Warrior Forum. The bigger marketers are so busy and get hit on so much, they won’t bite at most interview requests. Understandably so! How could they? Or that would be all that they would be doing….giving away free interviews….nonsense! They need to know that you are serious and genuine and will use the content properly.

Branding Yourself

In the final analysis, branding yourself is absolutely essential, isn’t it? You must be way more calculating about it, than you think…if you want to be a dominant force in your niche. If you don’t plan out your branding campaign, then you’re basically allowing the world wide web to brand you, the way it feels like branding you. You could very well end up looking like a schmuck! Bottom line, control how you’re branded by making a plan, or be branded, however it happens, however it makes you look, by not having a plan. Take the advice in the Brad Gosse interview, to get to the next level. Believe what he says…he earns large, practicing what he preaches!

- I stumbled across this website, created by George Sepich, while doing some research for an article, in the Warrior Forum. Firstly, I love this place and it’s a great “forum” to learn in. Basically, it’s an online tv station. It’s hard to draw a good analogy, as everyone has their own ideas and interpretations. Having said that, I think it’s like a tv station on the internet. The main page is like the “TV Guide”, where you can see what shows will be on and at what times. Very clear and easy to understand.

Show Hosts

Each show is ran by a different marketer. They are all experts in their field. The audience can chime in, with comments that are typed through the user interface. So we can hear the host (through our computers) and they see what we type. Usually, the host has a planned agenda for his show. Except for last night’s show that is ran by Caliban Darklock. He was really tired and didn’t have the gumption to make his show outline. However, I thoroughly enjoyed his show. He winged it and can think on his feet, so you wouldn’t have really noticed. He’s direct, knowledgeable and keeps things entertaining. I always pick up something new. Definitely worth tuning in, even if you don’t want to participate, just listen.

Time For a Break….Subscribe To My 5-Part Email Course…FREE…Right Here———>

Interactive

The audience is smaller than a webinar and therefore the host can respond more easily to comments. As time goes on, I’m sure various shows will gain in popularity and have larger followings. There are already shows that have regular viewers. Personally, I try to catch Caliban Darklock’s show on Monday nights now. I’ve been finding that as the show progresses and he touches on different topics, I want to participate more. It really is quite addictive. At the end of it all, you laugh, make some comments (hopefully some are intelligent) and you’ve learned something.

Simple Rules

There are rules but they aren’t rules that I wouldn’t expect to see. Mainly, the rule is this “don’t be an ass”. Everyone has input and sometimes it can be crude. Which I think is great. It’s expression. We’re talking about don’t be a hater or racist, stuff like that. Things that good normal people don’t like anyway.

Special Guests

The regular hosts are already good, solid marketers (some do exceptionally well) that we can all learn from. Then every so often, there is someone not normally there who is guest appearing. Really, they are like the celebrities of the Internet Marketing world. Some of the names that have been there are John Carlton, Jason Moffatt, Jay Abraham, David Garfinkel, Willie Crawford to name a few. Keep your eyes open, if you want to interact with some heavy hitters!

Free

Yes, it’s all free. I think it’s amazing to be able to tap into the minds of other successful marketers for free. In general, we have that at the Warrior Forum too. Except this is organized for that purpose specifically. And at each show, you are bound to pick up something but in a leisurely kind of way. Check it out, you can find it here at Talk Marketing Now

George Sepich created this and has done a really good job with it. You’ll also see George popping in periodically in the shows. Thanks George, really good job!

- That’s right, another platform from which to make money. However, this one’s special. It’s created by some top level marketers who are very active at ground level also. So, the jvzoo.com product platform has been created with the knowledge of a marketer. Basically, it’s like this. “I’m going to create a system for selling products….now what do I really want this marketplace to be like, what resources do I want available etc. And that is what I’m going to create.” Seriously, who is better to create something like this other than people using systems like this everyday and seeing all their flaws and expensiveness, etc.

Hence JV Zoo was born!

I have not personally used the seller side of things yet but I have purchased a product which was using the jvzoo platform. All went seamlessly on my end. So far, what I’ve researched indicates that product vendors are also enjoying seamless usage. There are a multitude of rivals for this kind of platform. Clickbank; Warrior Plus; DigiResults and PayDotCom, to name a few. Most of them have been around for a long time, except for DigiResults. The big guy on the field is definitely Clickbank. They will feel it, for sure, when jvzoo hits their stride. There’s just too many benefits and pro’s (or whatever you want to call it) to this system, you almost have no choice but to use it, lol.

INTERMISSION - Subscribe to my completely FREE email course “Blogging For Beginners”. You will receive one email each day for five days, pure content – FREE! Right here, to the right ————>

JV Zoo Up and Running

JV Zoo is forging ahead full bore. Tons of buzz and piles of marketers looking at the platform, making comparisons and suggestions to the creators. You can see where the suggestions and questions are being asked, at the Warrior Forum Thread right here. The questions at the forum are excellent and most are being asked by marketers who know the ropes. The answers being given by the JV Zoo team are even more excellent as they are considering each question and suggestion very carefully. They are being very responsive and making changes that make sense and that people clearly would like to see. They are in the “teething stages” and are really listening! I like these guys.

Flexible Content

When I was initially made aware of the JV Zoo, it was by a very successful marketer, E. Brian Rose. If you’ve never been on a webinar with him, you’re missing out. He’s very sharp, entertaining and you will learn a lot! Anyway, he is one of the guys with an interest in this platform. His email briefly explained what kinds of products can be placed in the system. Here are a few excerpts from EBR”s email:

“allows sellers to add any item and instantly create an affiliate program.”

“…if you are like me, then you have a hard drive full of master resale products and private label rights products. JVZoo.com lets you add those items to the affiliate marketplace for free. You can add a buy now button to a site or blog post you create, or use JVZoo’s instant sales page creator and host the page there.”

“There is no charge to add a product. A small percentage is deducted from each sale. However, if you think you will be making a ton of sales on a product, you can choose a one time flat fee, instead of a percentage.”

“Affiliate payments are instant. You get paid direct to your PayPal account on every sale, not every other sale, like other platforms. Also, there are no PayPal fees for affiliates. You get the full commission deposited into your PayPal account.”

Awesome Benefits

Have a look at the JV Zoo platform for yourself. Compare the various services right here, using this handy chart. You will soon see why many of these established platforms will have to tighten up their games. I feel many of them have been resting on their laurels, soaking in the cash, using the system they created a long time ago. The JV Zoo Team are fresh, listening intently and responsive. It’s what us marketers need!

Recently, I decided to upgrade my autoresponder service. This meant I had to do a fair bit of research. I was using a service that is owned by a fellow on the Warrior Forum. I paid something like $60 one time and it is good for life. Very inexpensive but hey, you get what you pay for, right? I won’t mention the name here as I don’t want to hurt anyone’s business. The issue I had was deliverability. I don’t believe all of my emails were getting to their intended destinations. And if they did break through and got into the recipients email accounts, more often than not, it would be in the spam folder. Needless to say, most of my email campaigns were not successful.

Aweber or Getresponse?

So, my choices weren’t difficult to make. I was looking at either Aweber or Getresponse. I think it’s fair to say that these are probably the two most popular Autoresponder services. I ended up choosing Aweber. If you sign up to my list over here to the right, you will see for yourself how the Aweber process works. You’ll see it is smooth and quick. I didn’t go too in depth at what the Getresponse format offered because once I discovered all that is offered inside Aweber, I was pretty much sold. The user interface is very ergonomic and well laid out.

INTERMISSION - Subscribe to my completely FREE email course “Blogging For Beginners”. You will receive one email each day for five days, pure content – FREE! Right here, to the right ————>

Over 100 Designs & Split Testing

There are well over a hundred different designs for the forms, all super professional in appearance, shapes and size choices galore. There’s just so much available, it’s mind-boggling. Even slide in forms and light boxes. There is absolutely no excuse for not having the look and feel you want. Once you’ve made your form, if you are still not a 100% sure then the system also has the ability to do split-testing. It will alternate between the 2 forms and later you can check your reports to see which one is working out better for you. Very cool stuff!

A Lot of Value

Pricing is also right on the money too. It’s a monthly amount that starts at $19 for up to 500 subscribers. The amount goes up as you get more subscribers but hey, if you’ve got a lot of subscribers then you’re making money. The general rule of thumb, is that you earn approximately $1 per subscriber per month. Some marketers have lists so huge, if they play their card right, they could pull in crazy cash. If memory serves correctly, Eben Pagan has lists that are approaching a million (don’t hold me to that number, but I am pretty sure about that). If his lists follow our little rule of thumb, it’s like winning the lottery every month. Cha-Ching!

Fantastic Aweber Support

I am very pleased with my decision to use Aweber. Oh, one more thing. Of course there is a learning curve with anything new, right? Well, I had to use the support ticket system to get some answers and I must say they were right on top of it. They got back to me quickly and had me sorted out in no time. Those types of things make it all worthwhile. Overall, a top notch-service with excellent support and with a very sharp appearance. I wasn’t overly happy with the look of my old autoresponder service. Everything is now the way it should be on this site. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to you! One more cool thing is that you can try them out for one dollar. I like that there’s no risk.

The Warrior Forum, in my opinion, is probably the best single resource anywhere to learn about Marketing in general and specifically online marketing. There are many great resources within the forum and many great minds that have created those resources. If you learn the ropes, you can make an incredible living just from that forum. If you were told “You’re not allowed to earn any money anywhere, except for the Warrior Forum”, you could do it, no problem. There are actually some marketers who are pulling down mid six figures (actually there’s a couple of marketers who are pushing 7 figures, believe it or not) a year just from selling WSO’s and services inside the Forum. I’ve had conversations with some of these marketers and there are some key ingredients required to make this happen.

My First WSO

This was an incredible experience for me on a couple of levels. I learned so much by doing this that I wanted to share it. I hope you can get some good insight here, that you can use when you launch your own WSO.

I was really blessed to have the help of another marketer, Tom Ness. Tom’s a very bright, young marketer. I believe he is in his early twenties. However, he is wise beyond his years. I got the benefit of his marketing savvy and his know-how within the forum, as he has launched and made money from many WSO’s.

My first product was a recorded interview on how to make a product. There are 2 bonuses that go with the product; a mindmap of the process and a transcript of the interview. We priced it at $4.95. Believe it or not, it didn’t do so well. I sold under 20 copies and most of those were buyers from Tom’s email list.

INTERMISSION - Subscribe to my completely FREE email course “Blogging For Beginners”. You will receive one email each day for five days, pure content – FREE! Right here, to the right ————>

The Process & The Relationship

It was the knowledge, experience and the relationship I made with Tom that is the “big win” in this for me. I also believe Tom feels the same way. Every new friendship or ally you gain in this business will further your goals and ultimately your career online. We all really do need each other. The next time I make a product, I will ask Tom if he will mail his list for me, as an affiliate of course, and I’m sure he will. We will both make money. Since then, I have made friendships with other marketers also. They will get the same “Can you promote for me?” email. Can you see the power of relationships now?

Now, I can launch another WSO on my own, as I’ve learned the process. It’s actually not that hard. A wee bit technical but nothing you can’t handle.

Time For Some Analysis

After everything settled and I had sort of ran as far as I could with this, it was time to sit down and troubleshoot. Here’s a cliche for you “we move forward by looking back at our mistakes” and learning from them. But it’s very true, this old adage. So, I went back and analyzed everything to see where I could’ve improved.

Social Proof I didn’t have any. One of the best ways to sell a product or service, is to have other people sell it for you, by way of testimonials. When people see or read that other people have looked at or used your product, and they rave about it and seem so happy to have found your product, they are getting convinced to pull out their credit card. When they see a lot of it, then they start to think to themselves “Hey…what am I missing out on? I better get me some!” So, right now I am in the process of getting the social proof for the product and then, when everything is right, I will relaunch it. Click Underground Marketer Sessions to see the WSO thread. I am presently giving out some review copies (at the time of writing). I only need 3 or 4 more. So, if you want a free copy, in exchange for a review, email me fast!

Credibility Again, I didn’t have a whole lot of it within the forum (outside of the forum, I have lots of it ) So, how do you get it? Well, the best way within the forum, is to get active. Start making useful and helpful posts. When I post, I don’t just say something like “Good point man”, and leave it at that. I will go in depth a bit and tell them why I liked or disliked what they had to say. If someone asks a question about a topic I know, I will definitely give them a solid answer. Seriously, get your post-count up and if you are making good and helpful posts, people will thank you. Those thank-you’s also show up as a count. People like to buy from people who don’t look like they’re just out to take money. They want to see that you’re a good and knowledgeable person, who helps and contributes.

The Money Is In The List This is something else that you hear all the time. But it is so true. So, even though you keep hearing it and are starting to get desensitized to it. Grab a hold of the idea and start to build a list. When you have your own list, you can promote your stuff to them or other people’s stuff, as an affiliate. I am not going to get into the whole list-building methodology here, right now. I will make another post about it, but look to the right of my page and see the Free Course I am giving away. This is “List-Building 101″. In short, I have been building a list steadily since I created the product and when I re-launch it, I will get more sales just by promoting to my list!

Relationship Building I already mentioned this one, but it’s worthy of a re-cap. Go out there, make friends on forums, post on other peoples blogs, get known and be helpful. Once you have established yourself and build a good reputation, your life is going to get sweeter. Always remember to give and then give some more. It will come back to you in ways you won’t imagine.

I believe these are the key factors that will cause your WSO to become a smashing success! Hey, let’s not forget the obvious things too, though. Like make a good product, that really does have value and get professional graphics done. Also, good ad-copy. There are so many resources that can teach you about ad-copy, for free. So there really are no excuses!

Best of Luck on your WSO’s.

Until I kept hearing about it repetitively. It was like okay, I’ve heard enough. It’s now time for me to actually understand what it is and how it can benefit me.

Let me just say this, before I go too deeply into the article: I realize that many of the folks who read this, may think it’s somewhat elementary but it’s not elementary when you’re new to the world of online marketing. One only has to realize that there are tens of thousands of people discovering the web everyday, to agree that this is a worthy post for newbies. There, enough said about that. Let’s jump in!

RSS Feeds – This is why feedburner exists. Feedburner is a system for custom RSS Feeds accompanied with management tools, used by bloggers and other content producers online. Feedburner was created by a University of Michigan graduate, Dick Costolo in 2004. In June 2007, Google bought Feedburner from Mr. Costolo. Word on the street is that the big G paid around 100 million dollars u.s. Not a bad payday for Dick C. Just to finish the RSS thought. RSS is an acronym for “RDF Site Summary”. Surprise, surprise! Everyone says it means Really Simple Syndication. That would be the equivalent of slang. Oh, and RDF is an acronym for Resource Description Framework. I suppose we could go on all night about the definitions and acronyms etc. Guess we should get down to the benefits and good reasons to utilize Feedburner.

Online Intelligence – Feedburner provides a lot of information for you, about your subscribers. Such as how many people are reading your rss feed everyday, what browser they used, which area they were in when they looked at your feed, amongst other bits of online intelligence such as what feed-reader they were using. This kind of information can be very useful to a marketer.

INTERMISSION - Subscribe to my completely FREE email course “Blogging For Beginners”. You will receive one email each day for five days, pure content – FREE! Right here, to the right ————>

Secondary Bandwidth – Let’s just say, that your blog gets real popular and you end up with thousands of people reading your stuff everyday. This could really happen. That would also mean, by virtue of numbers, that you would end up with a multitude of RSS subscribers. If many of those folks are so into what you are producing, they could be checking the feed a lot. That could really hit your bandwidth quota hardcore. By using Feedburner, you inadvertently get to use their resources. They take the hit for the heavy views on your RSS feed. It’s free and you get the benefit. Secondary bandwidth…pretty cool, huh?

Another Advertising Channel – Okay, now you know that Google owns Feedburner, you will understand why Feedburner integrates so wonderfully with the Adsense program, another Google product. If you have an Adsense account, then you can monetize your Feedburner feed easily. You can use other advertising platforms also, but I’ve found Adsense the easiest to integrate for obvious reason. It’s just one more fishing rod in the water!

Browser and Feed Reader Friendly – The Feedburner code is very well written. It doesn’t matter if you have an actual feed-reader or you’re just using a browser (Firefox or Explorer etc.) Feedburner is capable of displaying the content properly.

A Good Analogy – There are a few other benefits, but I’m getting tired (the wine is forcing me to think about bed). One way to think about an RSS feed is to just think of a pipe that information can travel through. Your blog can create an unlimited number of these information pipes that can connect to an unlimited number of people’s feed-readers or browsers. Very huge benefits for the content producer.

I have my Feedburner opt-in box at the very bottom of this page. If you’re curious, you can opt in and see how the whole thing works. As I post, you will be updated. Check it out. You’ll probably want to put one on your blog too (if you don’t already have one)!

Til next time!

Well, the other day I was with my Mom and we were having a conversation about something that really mattered to her (I can’t reveal the topic or I will be risking her wrath…she’s fairly private). So, I started to analyze the situation, while I was talking to her about this matter. I started to ask her a bunch of probing questions. The type of questions that you can only ask, if you know the person really well. With each answer Mom gave me, I retorted with “so you chose that, huh?” She said “yes” each time. At the end of it all, it was clear that the situation was completely self-induced. I told Mom that too. Mom agreed. I know it was not a comfort, unfortunately. However, it did put things into perspective. I suppose there may be some sort of redeeming quality in that.

The Bottom Line – Every single situation that we are involved in; each of our circumstances either good or bad; the amount of money in your bank account or anything else you can conjure up is a result of choices that you have made.

Read that line again! Seriously, read it til it sinks in. Once it sinks in, you will start to conduct yourself differently. You will make better thought out decisions and you will effectively set yourself on the path that you really want to be on!

INTERMISSION - Subscribe to my completely FREE email course “Blogging For Beginners”.

The AHA Moment – If you read the page on this website entitled “The Hunny’s Chronicles”, you will learn that I used to own a bar & eatery. Ultimately, it caused a financial disaster for my lovely wife and myself. I blamed a number of people around me, including the government. This all happened about 4 years ago and it was only recently that I analyzed my own situation (the same process as the Mom scenario) and came to grips with the fact that my decisions caused the situation I’m in right now. This is a fantastic revelation for me. It’s not really a revelation but it feels like one, when the light finally goes on. AHA! It means that you have finally figured out the secret to controlling your destiny as much as possible.

“The Hunny’s Effect”

I am hereby coining a new term, ha ha! It was when thinking and analyzing the whole episode of owning the bar and what finally happened, that I had my epiphany or aha-moment or whatever you want to call it. Therefore it is now known as “The Hunny’s Effect”

The Decision I’ve Just Made – As you can see by the post count to date, this is a relatively new blog. I made the decision last week to start this blog (I have a lot to share and I love to teach what I know, if it can help someone). I also made the decision to post to the blog at least once a day. They say (whoever the heck “they” are) it takes twenty-one days to effect change. So basically, I have to keep at this for three weeks in order for this to be habit-forming. That’s my goal: steady work and planned implementation. After the initial three weeks, I will sit down re-evaluate and revamp, if I need to.

By the way, the Hunny’s Chronicles will also be updated regularly, as time permits. If you enjoy a non-fiction story, you may enjoy our story of the bar.

Please share your thoughts in the comments section or shoot me an email.
